Isaac Hemingway, Stanley Lane End, Wakefield, 1856
This is the last
Will and Testament of me, Isaac Hemingway, of Stanley Lane End in the Parish of
Wakefield in the County of York, farmer, which I make, publish and declare in
manner following (viz) I direct all my debts, funeral and testamentary expenses
to be paid by my Executors hereinafter named. I give and devise unto my son
George Hemingway, his heirs and assigns for ever All those two cottages or
dwellinghouses situate at Stanley Lane End aforesaid with the parcel of land
and garden thereto adjoining and in which the same stand with all the
outbuildings and appurtenances thereto belonging now in my own occupation on
condition that he permit my wife Hannah and daughter Hannah and the survivor of
them to reside along with my said son in the said dwellinghouses for their
respective lives without paying any rent or recompense for the same. I also
give and bequeath unto my said son George all my household furniture horses
cattle carts carriages goods chattels and effects whatsoever and wheresoever.
And I also devise that my said son George shall maintain and provide for my
wife and daughter during their lives and the survivor of them for her life. And
hereby revoking all former wills by me made I declare this my last Will and
Testament whereof I appoint my son George Sole Executor. In Witness whereof I
the said Isaac Hemingway have hereunto set my hand this 12th day of November

Signed by the said Isaac Hemingway the Testator as and for his last Will
and Testament in the presence of us present at the same time who at his request
in his presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as
witnesses John Henry Lumb, Clerk to Lumb and Sons,
Solicitors,
