Elizabeth Hemingway of Liversedge Hall, 1786.

In the name of God Amen, I Elizabeth Hemingway of Liversedge Hall in the Parish of Birstall and County of York being of a sound and perfect mind and memory thanks be to God for the same do make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament in manner and form following.  That is to say first and principally I give and recommend my Soul unto the hands of God who gave it me and my body to the Earth to be buried in a Christian like and decent manner at the discretion of my Executor here after named.  And touching such worldly goods as it hath pleased God to bestow upon me I dispose of them in the following manner.  Viz I give and bequeath unto my daughter in law Mary Hemingway the sum of two pounds of lawful money of this nation and unto the said Mary Hemingway I also give three silver spoons and a set of them.  And unto xxx son James Hemingway I give and bequeath the sum of two pounds of like lawful money,  To her daughter Elizabeth  I also give the sum of two pounds of Lawful money

and unto Isaac Hemingway my son in law I give the sum on one shilling.  But all and every my other effects, that is to say my household goods or furniture and my weaving apparel and with everything of every nature Quality and kind that belongeth or in any wise appurtenants unto me I give and bequeath unto Elizabeth Jobson my niece to her and her heirs for ever.  She paying the above mentioned legacies my debts and funeral expenses out of the same.  And I do hereby nominate and appoint the said Elizabeth Jobson to be the sole executor of this my last Will and Testament.  And in witness thereof I have hereto set my hand and seal the twenty second day of November in the Year of Our Lord One thousand seven hundred and seventy two this by me Elizabeth Hemingway.
