In the name of God Amen the xxth day of the yeare of our lord God 1567 I Thomas Hemmyngwraye within the townshipp of Kirkbie Overbalause husbandman secke of bodie wholle of mynd and good remembrance maketh my last will and testament in maner and forme following

First bequithe my Soull to god Almightie and to his deare sonne Christ my maker and Savior and Redemer in whom I trust to be savid and my bodie to be buried within the parishe yeard of Kirkbie Overblause where I am a parishioner

also I bequithe to the box for the poore iid

also I bequithe to my Brother William Hemingway vis.viiid

also I will and my mynde is that my dettes and my funerall charges shal be paid of my wholle goodes and that done I will that my goodes shalbe devided in three partes

The first to my self,

The second to Grace my welbelovid wyf

The third to my foure chilodren Margaret, Elizabeth, Isabell and William

also I gyve and bequithe all y own part to Grace my welbelovid wyf and my children Margaret, Elizabeth, Isabell and William to be devided equallie emongst them

also I gyve and bequithe Grace my welbelovid wyf all the yeares and lease of my farmhold with the appurtenances unexpired and to come yf she keipe her self sole and unmaried provided always that yf she the said Grace my welbelovid wyf do marie that they after the solemnisation of the marriage that then I will gyve and bequithe to William my Sonne all the lease of the yeares unexpired and to come his heires and assignes

also I make Nycholas Parcer my father-in-law the supervisor of this my will and to se yt fulfilled

also I constitute and ordeyne and make Grace my welbelovid wyf the sole Executrix of this my laste will and testament.
