In the name of God Amen : the twentie daie of January, in the yere of our lorde God a m v xlv [1545].  I Wyllyam Hemyngeway, of Hillome, in the pishe of Monkefrieston, hooll of mynde and of good remembrance, maikes this my last will and testament in manner and forme followinge.  First I bequeath my soule to God Almightie, our blissed ladie sancte Marie, and till all the gloriouse company of heven, and my bodie to be buried in the pishe churche yerde of Monkefriston.  Also I bequeath to the blissed sacram’t for tithes and oblacons forgotten xijd.   Also I bequeath to Sr Robert Stoones xijd.  Also I bequeathe to Jennit mv wife my whiete headed cowe.  Also to William mv sone an acre of barlie and halfe an acre of wheate, and they to be taiken of my hooll croppe, neither of best nor of the worste, but indefferently, and to Thomas mv sone a quarter of barlie, and it to be delyuered immediately after my deathe, to John my sone vjs viijd and a yewe lambe.  Itm to Margaret my doughter my elder quye, and Esabell my doughter my yonger quye, and to Thomas my brother my graye iackett.  Also I maike Jennett my wife, William, Thomas, and John my sones, Margarete and Isabell my daughters, my executures, they to fulfill my will accordinge to mv mynde, and to them I giue all the Residue of my goodes not bequeathed, and that this is rnv true will.  Thes witnes, WVilliam Richardson, Sr Robert Stones, John Whitlay, Thomas Gillyam.  [Proved 26 March, 1546, by Jane, widow, William, Margaret, and Isabel, children of deceased.  Grant reserved to Thomas and John, sons of deceased, minors.]
