Isaac HEMINGWAY of Middlesex  :  Died 1784

 

This is the last Will and Testament of me Isaac Hemingway of Canbury otherwise Cannonbury House in the parish of St Mary Islington in the County of Middlesex Victualler who being weak in body but of sound  and disposing mind memory and understanding praised be Almighty God for the same So resign my Soul to Almighty God my Creator humbly hoping through the merits and mediation of my blessed Saviour and Redeemer to enjoy life Everlasting and my Body  to the Earth to be decently interred at the discretion of my Executors herein after named and as for such worldly Goods and Estate wherewith it hath pleased Almighty God to furnish me I do give and bequeath the same and every part thereof  of what nature or kind soever unto James Hastings of Long Lane in the Borough of Southwark in the County of Surry Gentleman, John Baptist Shackles of Fore Street London Stationer and David Treasurer of Coventry Court in the parish of Saint Martin in the Fields in the county of Middlesex Taylor or the survivors or survivor of them his executors and administrators upon trust in the first place to pay all my just debts and after payment thereof upon trust to pay such clear moiety of the rest and residue of my Estate and Affects unto my dearly beloved wife Eleanor Hemingway to and for her own sole use and benefit and upon trust to lay out and invest  in their or his names or name the other moiety thereof  in Government Securities of this Kingdom upon trust to pay or transfer the same to my daughter Mary Hemingway on her attaining her age of twenty one years and to apply the interest thereof for and towards her maintenance education and support till she attains that age and lastly I do hereby nominate constitute and  appoint  the said James Hastings, John Baptist Shackles and David Treasurer Executors of this my last Will who are to be at liberty to deduct their respective reasonable charges and expenses and to be subject to their own respective acts deeds and receipts only and I do hereby revoke all former Wills and do declare this only to be my last Will and Testament In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty second day of May one thousand, seven hundred and eight four.

Signed sealed published declared by the said Isaac Hemingway the Testator as and for this last Will and Testament in the presence of us who in his presence and at his request have subscribed our names as witnesses Edward Dyson Jno Hichingbottom.

 

This will was proved at London the twenty third day of July in the year of our lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty four before the worshipful John Fisher Soctor of Laws surrogate of the Right worshipful Peter Calvert Soctor of Laws, Master Keeper or Commissary of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the oath of James Hastings one of the executives named in the said will to whom administration of all and singular the goods chattels and credits of the deceased was granted he having been first sworn duly to administer power reserved of making the life grant to John Baptist Shackles and David Treasurer the other executors named in the said will when they or either of them shall apply for the same.
